Performs various functions and tasks aimed at the protection, conservation, regeneration and improvement of the environment and water. WP2 leader for Case Studies implementation as well as responsible and coordinating the successful deployment of all activities in the Spanish Case Study.

Social Climate is a cooperative, set up in Spain, and committed to driving climate action based on science and social justice; through social innovation, Nature-based Solutions (NbS), economic localization, responsible tourism, and international cooperation; via consulting, training, capacity building, facilitation, and project development, management, and evaluation services. Social Climate leads WP4, according to its expertise on NbS and its standard. Moreover, it’s in charge of task 2.1 of WP2 aligned with its expertise on participatory governance and co-design activities.

Moreover, Tero will also support the activities of the Greek case study run by KEPE.

Environmental Center (KEPE) operates as a Regional Enterprise of Western Macedonia Region which is the Strategic Consultant of the Regional Government of Western Macedonia regarding environmental issues and sustainable development policies. KEPE scope is the enhancement of the environmental quality in the Region of Western Macedonia. Environmental Centre will actively participate in all WP’s and core actions of the NATMed. Additionally, will be responsible for implementing the Greek NBS case study at Chimaditida lake at the R.U of Florina.

UNISS is an interdepartmental Centre of the University of Sassari officially established in 2000 that promotes multidisciplinary research, networking, dissemination, awareness raising, stakeholder engagement, training and capacity building programs and development cooperation on desertification and sustainable land and water resources management in the Mediterranean region and around the world. Responsible for the implementation of the research activities related to the Forested Infiltration Area (FIA) system in the Arborea case study (Italy) in WP2. It will actively participate in almost all the WPs and core actions of NATMed.

Demir Enerji is active in “Sustainability Consultancy” sector in Turkey and in Europe since 2011, working with clients in achieving sustainability goals by providing solutions on climate change strategies, carbon management and decarbonization, effective and sustainable use of renewable energy, sustainable building design and certification, energy efficiency and energy management. Leader of NATMed WP5 for replicability and clustering activities for local key stakeholders, augmented by co-design of local to regional governance processes. It is also responsible and coordinating the successful deployment of all activities in the demosite.

Ege University, the fourth founded university of Turkey, is established on May 20th, 1955. The first two faculties of Ege University are Faculty of Agriculture and Faculty of Medicine. By the year 2022 includes 17 Faculties, 9 Institutes, 4 Graduate Schools, 1 State Conservatory of Turkish Music, 10 Vocational Schools, 6 Rectorate Units, 37 Application and Research Centres. EGE will take part in almost all work packages, especially in Turkish demosite (WP2) with different technologies and training activities (T5.5).

IZTECH is the only institute of technology in Turkey, established in 1992, with a focus on graduate education. IZTECH mission is to carry out advanced research, education and production as well as publication and consultation in the field of science and technology. Leader of WP3 ‘Monitoring and Evaluation’ and mainly responsible for establishing a common framework to monitoring and assessing the impact of the FWC-NbS implementation in each Case Study. Besides, IZTECH will lead Bozcaada case study including design and implementation of FWC-NbS 4 and lead the creation of NATMed decision-making tool of Task 4.3.

NBSCLIMATE is a Spanish social enterprise that facilitates the design, evaluation and continuous improvement of Nature-Based Solutions (NBS) to build resilience to climate impacts and inclusive economic opportunities for local communities; by applying the IUCN Global Standard for NBS whose professional certification we hold. In collaboration with Social Climate, NBSCLIMATE will co-lead WP4, thanks to its experience with NBS and the IUCN Global Standard. Moreover, it will be in charge of task 2.1 of WP2, leveraging its expertise on participatory governance and co-creation of NBS, and will support subtask 2.2.2 analyzing Spanish case studies.

The University of Western Macedonia (UoWM) is currently one of the biggest academic institutions in Greece, comprising 7 Faculties and 22 Departments located in the five main cities of West Macedonia Region. UoWM will assist with practical tasks by sharing academic knowledge in sustainable water management with NbS, to ensure successful project results.  UoWM's experience with research programs makes it well-equipped to contribute effectively to tasks such as data collection, analysis, and studying the outcomes of implemented Nature Based Solutions (NbS) for reporting conclusions.

CRSTRA is a public institution of a scientific and technical nature (EPST). Aims to carry out scientific and technical research programs on arid regions and/or regions threatened with drought or desertification; to undertake and/or participate in any multidisciplinary research on Arid Zones; to participate in any research aimed at understanding and fighting against human vulnerability to environmental changes. CRSTRA is in charge of the case study and FWC-NbS in Algeria.

UNICA, that  participates with the Department of Civil, Environmental Engineering and Architecture (DICAAR-UNICA), is the polytechnic expression of the University of Cagliari which involves more than 100 professors and researchers covering numerous multidisciplinary expertise. It collaborates with NRD-UNISS for the implementation of the research activities related to the Forested Infiltration Area (FIA) system in the Arborea case study (Italy), participating actively in almost all the WPs and core actions of the project.
