On June 13, 2025, as part of the official EU Green Week 2025 program, the NATMed project, together with DesirMED and CARDIMED, hosted the webinar titled:
“Closing the Loop with Nature: Nature-based Solutions at the Heart of Innovation and Circularity in the Mediterranean“.
This engaging online session attracted more than 30 participants and featured dynamic exchanges between researchers, practitioners, and stakeholders across the three major PRIMA-funded projects. The event highlighted how Nature-based Solutions (NbS) are driving systemic change in Mediterranean regions, especially in water management, circularity, and climate resilience.
The session included inspiring presentations and case studies from Greece, Spain, and Portugal, showcasing innovative approaches in water reuse, sustainable farming, and ecosystem restoration.
One of the most important parts of the event was the open and thoughtful discussion that followed the presentations. Participants shared challenges, exchanged practical knowledge, and explored opportunities for future collaboration among the projects.
The webinar not only served as a knowledge-sharing platform but also emphasized the need for deeper integration of NbS into policy and practice across the Mediterranean basin. It also highlighted how working together, involving local people, and thinking in a connected way can help protect the environment in the long term.
This joint event stands as a great example of the power of collaboration under the EU Green Week banner, bringing together diverse voices to amplify the message of ‘Clean, Competitive & Circular’ in action.
Stay tuned for more shared activities and outcomes from the NATMed, CARDIMED, and DesirMED partnerships!
