The NATMed Policy Guidelines (deliverable D5.6) present the evidence-based recommendations of the NATMed project, drawing on the design, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of Full Water Cycle Nature-based Solutions (FWC-NbS) across its five Mediterranean case studies in Spain, Greece, Italy, Türkiye and Algeria. The guidelines consolidate the project’s scientific research, real-world implementation experience and extensive stakeholder engagement into a coherent set of actionable policy recommendations aimed at supporting decision-makers at different governance levels.
NATMed has also produced three concise policy briefs tailored to local, national and EU governance levels, distilling the core policy recommendations presented in the Guidelines. These briefs are targeted to relevant policy-makers, including municipalities in the case study areas, national authorities and EU institutions.
