On February 11, 2025, the NATMEd PRIMA Project hosted a co-design session titled “Nature-Based Solutions, Water Management, and Reuse in a Drought Context” at the Regional Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Water, and Rural Development in Seville. The session was led by NATMEd partners AMAYA, CARTIF, Social Climate, and NBSCLIMATE, bringing together experts and stakeholders to discuss sustainable water solutions.
Key Objectives of the Session:
✔ Assessing the impact of Nature-Based Solutions (NbS): Evaluating the effectiveness of the NbS implemented in NATMEd Case Study 1, identifying challenges, lessons learned, and opportunities for scalability and replication.
✔ Fostering knowledge exchange: Encouraging discussions on water management technologies and best practicesacross different contexts, promoting cross-sector collaboration.
✔ Facilitating stakeholder engagement: Creating an interactive space for participants to collectively address the challenges and opportunities associated with NbS and water management.
Session Overview:
🔹 Part 1: Introduction to the NATMEd Project, the IUCN Global Standard for NbS, and best practices in water management.
🔹 Part 2: A participatory co-evaluation activity, focusing on the NbS implemented in Carrión de los Céspedes (Case Study 1).
💡 The event saw high engagement and active participation, with a diverse group of experts and stakeholders contributing valuable insights. Their varied perspectives enriched the discussions, providing innovative ideas for improving NbS implementation and water resilience strategies.
