In September 2025, our partner CARTIF carried out field surveys at the CENTA facilities to evaluate plant species diversity at Case Study 1 Carrión de los Céspedes, within the framework of the NATMed project.
During the study, the surveys examined species in the Floating Gardens and Constructed Wetlands, offering valuable insights into how these infrastructures support sustainability and ecosystem services.
Beyond plants, the Nature-based Solutions (NbS) also boosted animal biodiversity, with frogs and dragonflies in the wetlands and black-winged stilts in the lagoon.
These actions highlight the importance of NbS for sustainable water management and the improvement of local ecosystems.
