IZTECH, EGE universities, and DEMIR, successfully conducted a 2-day MedCoP meeting on 15th & 16th of June 2023, with NATMED local partners, including Bozcaada Municipality to implement Nature-based Solutions (NbS) on Bozcaada Island!

On the 1st day, they explored potential sites for water accumulation, storage, and agricultural NbS implementations through field trips and identified strategic areas for positive environmental impact.

Day two involved engaging meetings with important stakeholders, including agricultural and women’s cooperatives, and generous benefactors so as to valued their input, ensuring our actions aligned with local needs and expectations.

During the meeting, the organizers had the privilege of introducing their visionary plans to the Mayor of Bozcaada Island and the District Governor.

The highlight of that gathering was the definitive selection of demonstration sites. Following consultations with stakeholders, Bozcaada hosters chose specific locations to showcase the transformative power of NbS solutions. These sites will be exemplary models for a resilient and sustainable future on Bozcaada.
